Wakey wakey!
We're up early for our Nine Islands Tour. We have breakfast and are greeted on time by our guide who takes us on his Long Tail Boat over to the first island. The boat's full of other couples, we sit at the back of the boat after learning from yesterday's experience that if you sit at the front you will get soaked!
It's a smooth journey over. The first island is very nice, soft white sand, not many boats or tourists around like there were on Railay Beach. The beach is set below a beautiful green jungle mountain and the sea is a clear turquoise blue. We grab our snorkels and some flippers and dive straight in.
Suddenly the beauty is all gone. There's something in the water that is stinging us all over like little electric shocks! After no more than two minutes of trying to put up with the stings I give up. The stings don't seem to bother Chris so he stays in the sea and swims around the rocks for a while. I take this opportunity to get some sunbathing in. I lay on the beach while the waves come up and splash me. No good, I can still feel the little stings over my legs. I look down and can see these tiny transparent bug like creatures clinging onto me. I flick them off and squeeze a few to get my own back!! I move up further into the beach and start to enjoy the sun, ahh peace and quite and no one around me.
We only stay on the island for an hour before moving onto the next one. The next one doesn't have a beach so we just jump off the boat to do some snorkelling. Unfortunately most of the coral is dead so there aren't many fish about.
We head back to the boat and go for lunch at the next island. We have a look around and try to work out if the people working on the island live here or not. There's a few cat's and some huts so we think they do.
A lady starts to pet a cat with a meow that sounds like hello. It was quite funny to watch the cat continuously meow at her as it followed the lady through the bushes. This made me think of the way my Billy follows me around the house at home.
We are called back to the boat and start to head out to the next island for more snorkelling. It's a little better at this one now. We spot a sea snake and two lobsters.
On our way to the next island the boats engine begins to make a strange noise. It starts to choke and as we look around we notice the engine is actually on fire! The guide quickly puts the fire out and then the engine breaks down completely. Lol just our luck, first a coach then a boat to break down. Whats next? Plane??! We bloody hope not!
So now we are floating around in the middle of the sea. Its too far to swim to land so everyone try's to get comfy and make the most of it while we wait for another boat to come rescue us. The guide hits the engine with his hammer (like men do when something is broken) a few times like it's actually going to work lol. After half hour another boat come along. It's the guides big brother. He changes the battery which gets the engine running. We all cheer and get going again.
The next couple of islands are rushed but we still get plenty of time to explore them. The snorkelling gets better and better. More living coral so more fish's. Chris grabs hold of a huge hermit crab at one of them and we got to swim through dark caves at others.
The sun is beginning to set now so we begin to head for another island.
We arrive at a very secluded sandy bay of a small island, it's very beautiful here. The tide is out and the sea is calm which has created a sand bank between the island we are on and another with a bar on it. Chris wants a beer so has left me and ran to get one. The sun is setting fast now so he better hurry up.
Chris has got half way before realising I have the money on me. Not wanting to miss the sunset he is now running back, lol. He grabs the money and sprints back towards the bar. I look around at all the couples taking photos together as it sets. Then there's me, on my own! I'm not really bothered though, I quite fancy a beer so I'm glad he's gone lol.
He's back now and only just made it. We get a quick photo together and enjoy our beers.
We head out to the last island to enjoy our 'Paradise Dinner'. The sun has completely set now and the moon and stars are out. We finish our meal and get back onto the boat in pitch black. It's hard enough to balance in the light let alone in the dark!
The boat takes us just a little way out and stops. In pitch black we can't see anything and are wondering where the glowing plankton are. The guide splashes the water which reveals little flashes of light. He explains to us we will see them better if we get into the water. Chris is first to dive in. I can hardly see him but I can see the water glittering around him, it must be the plankton. Then everyone on the boat jumps in. The plankton give off a flash of light every time you move. The water around us really did look like it was glittering! It was mesmerising we could have stayed in the water all night.
Eventually we were called out and head back to shore. After a great day today we now feel ready to leave Krabi so book ourselves onto a ferry for tomorrow morning to Koh Samui.
On our way back to our cottage we decide to stop in the Hippy Bar for a drink. The bar has a live band playing which personally should have been a mute band! The singer bless her was terrible! Even the guitarist asked if anyone wanted to go up and sing lol. The girl had trouble pronouncing her words. She sang;
John Lennon - 'Knock Knock Knocking on 'Aaron's' Door'
Bruno Mars - 'Taste' the way you are. &, 'When you 'smell' the whole room stops and stares for a while'
Brilliant ending to our night.

P LMAO! Thats hilarious! Geat stuff, guys. Glad the trip is going to plan, albeit the broken down transport :) Boris wouldnt stand for that in good old London. Still, I know where id rather be... watching the sun set with a cold beer and glittering plankton. Hmph. So you didnt get up and sing then, Charlotte? Haha... X
Charlotte Haha! Well I wanted to but Chris wouldn't let me. We were sitting close to the stage too so the guy did ask us lol. We seem to be getting a lot of bad luck when it comes to transport lol. That's why I have told Chris we are definitely NOT getting motorbikes lol.
