We love Krabi!
It only took us three hours to get here from Phuket and the bus was on time! We were dropped off at Krabi bus station where we asked at the tourist information desk where the back packer area was and how much for a taxi there. Of course the lady recommended a guest house straight away but we have learned and know how these travel centres work now. We are too clever and wont be fooled by them anymore. I politely told her we would just take the taxi and have a look first. So she called one over and as we expected, the taxi pulled up in front of the guest house the lady recommended to us, the R.A. Guest house. We were quickly greeted by a man with long dreadlocks, who immediately asked Chris if he smoked weed! We were there now so had a look at the room he had already prepared for us. He told us the lady at the bus station was his sister inlaw and because she sent us we would get the room at a discounted rate of 600 baht per night. Chris walked in before me and decided we would take it (not looking at it properly). I inspected the room further and something just didn't feel right. I said we should go look around at more places first but Chris was already unpacking. I went to use the toilet and noticed the water was yellow and it wouldn't flush! It also smelled like a gents loo, sorry guys but they stink!
I told Chris and we requested another room, the next one was no better. The loo roll was soggy and when I wiped the wet toilet seat with tissue I realised I had wiped up some other persons piss! That was it, we were out of there! I told Chris to ask for our money back straight away. Chris agreed after finding ants in the bed. The guy wasn't very happy and tried to tell Chris we would lose our money! Chris told him where to go and took the money back. Later we realised he took 100bht out of it for himself. Cheeky git!
We walked down the road and the next two guest houses were full. Not a great start. Then we found some bungalows made from bamboo/read. They were cheaper and looked really cool. We didn't like the idea of not having a proper loo though. Sorry for being crude but it's not easy pooping while crouching over a hole in the ground lol. So we continued to the next one. It got better. Nice room, cheap, free wifi, closer to the beach and a proper loo! Good enough for us so the Cashew Nut Guest house it was.
It didn't take long until we went to the beach. It was really long and quiet. Just what we needed. The tide was out so it was warm and shallow. Before the sun set we headed back in to freshen up. We ate in a hippy bar earlier so we planned to go back there for a few drinks and watch the fire show they had organised, it was brilliant. He even made me join in by making me hold onto one of the chains with a ball of fire spinning around on it. Chris thought I would drop it, I was more worried it would fly into Chris's face!
We are back in our room now. Its only 11:30pm, we want to make the most of the beach tomorrow so decided not to stay out too late.
So good night from us.

Charlotte Lol sorry Paula sorry (take a picture) Yeah we are having a wicked time! I wasn't sure if it was you because first you wrote your full name down. You know how easily confused I get! The blogs are listed by area, then you need to click on the drop down at the top of a blog page. It will either say the date, today or yesterday. Does that make sense? X
