Goodbye Koh Phangan we will miss you.
We really enjoyed our time on the island and are glad we picked to stay in Haad Yao. We met some great people who we hope we will keep in contact with. We could have easily stayed another night but knew we must move on. Personally I didn't want to get out of bed. I still felt really rough this morning, I felt very faint and vomited blood last night and again this morning. I also had really bad nightmares of me being pinned down in my bed by a bad spirit, i kept having horrible thoughts in my head and then I was confused whether I was really dreaming or not. Im wondering if it had anything to do with the mushroom shake I had at the Full Moon party. I'm ok now though, it only seemed to last until the morning.
We got picked up twenty minutes late from our bungalow. When we boarded the ferry I chose to sit at the back this time, just incase I felt sick again. We tried to sleep but it was too uncomfortable. The ferry was smaller and over booked. Most people were still wearing their full moon shorts and vests! When there were no more seats available people started to lay in the Isle. One guy laying on the floor beneath Chris slept with his eyes and mouth open, the sun shone in his eyes and crusty mouth making him look dead lol.
After an hour and half we arrived into Donsak port. We were one of the first on the ferry so asumed our bags were at the bottom of the pile and would be thrown off last. We waited until the last bag came off. As it happened our bags were one of the first that were taken off the boat so we had wasted twenty minutes standing in the blaring hot sun for nothing lol.
We knew what to expect from the rest of the journey to Phuket and just like always, we were told inaccurate time scales for every bus and coach we were transferred onto. It was funny watching others get irated like we did the first time we used the bus services. Although we wern't as verbal as some of the people. We were also offered the same direct service to Patong beach as we had been earlier in our trip. We knew full well that it wouldnt be a direct service so we kept to our plan to go to Phuket town, even if it would mean travelling five hours to get there. From there we would get a taxi to Khao Lak and find out about diving around the Similan Islands.
When we finally reached Surathani bus station we were told to wait for the later coach because the one leaving was already full. This worked in our favour though because we found out from the crazy ticket inspector that our coach was stopping at Khao Lak before Phuket! That was a result, so it only took us four hours and we didn't have to pay anymore money for taxis ect.
At around 6:30pm we arrived in Khao Lak and went for dinner. Then we got a few prices on the Live Aboard diving tours around the Similan Islands. The most cost effective tour was from the Similan Island Diving Centre. They offered us 10 dives over two nights, three days on board their very nice looking boat. The tour starts from tomorrow so it also fits in with our schedule. Plus they don't charge any extra for diving equipment or Marine Park fees. So we agreed a price of 16600 bht each which worked out at about £356 each. Chris asked for a waterproof camera for free and I was surprised when the guy agreed but we aren't meant to tell anyone! So that saved us another 1000 bht.
Happy with our sale we went on to look for somewhere to stay for tonight. We were recommended Jai
Bungalows just two minutes up the road. They only charged us 400 bht so we checked straight in. The tour starts at 7:30am tomorrow so we will be up early again, so night night from us.
