It's our last morning in San Miguel today. Weather has been perfect: cool in the morning, clear blue skies, and warming up into the mid-80s by afternoon. Yesterday, after coffees and pan dulce, we strolled to an old convent to see a huge unfinished wall mural by Mexican artist Siqueiros as well as other frescos. What a lovely Sunday it has been. Though the day started out cold, we had a fire in the fireplace to warm us up while drinking coffee/tea to help fortify us to plan today's adventure. Since our fabulous cook Marisol had the day off, we decided to enjoy a relaxing brunch at Villa Santa Marina with its elegant courtyard, flowers, birds and fountain. We did a walking tour of town today. Spent some time at the town square and checked out the most beautiful Starbucks EVER. It's in an old colonial building with thick high walls and tile floors. Gorgeous! Every street offered one gorgeous colorful charming vista after another. Found the mask museum which is housed in a beautiful Inn. We have arrived in San Miguel, staying at the lovely Casa Luz. Very excited about exploring the little streets and shops we saw on the drive here. Speaking of our drive, pictured with Gregory is our driver extraordinaire, Alberto. He was waiting at the airport with a sign that said: CRAIG.

Just so beautiful here. Amazing dinner here at the house of stew with pork lentils, pear, platano and pineapple, then chile relleno, and a salad with corn, pineapple and chayote! Very happy. Tea and conversation by the fire now and planning walking tour for tomorrow. GR
