We began our day by going down for breakfast. We decided since we have cereal that we have to get rid of we might as well take it down and use the hotel's milk to eat it. Even though we got a lot of stares we enjoyed our Coco Crispy's, Apple Jack's, and Fruit Loop's.
We then gathered our things and were off on our day's adventure. We first "went" to the catacombs. Went is in quotes since we had all intentions of going but when we saw that the line was almost completely wrapped around the block we decided to get back on the Subway and had on to the next place. Sorry dead people we were not going to wait that long just to see your bones.
The next stop was Notre Dame. There was a church service going on, of course it was in French so we couldn't understand a word they were saying, but we were still allowed to go inside and walk around. The stain glass windows are huge and amazing. Also the church itself is HUGE. I think it took us like 15 minutes to walk around the inside of the whole thing. After we got out we planned on going to the Shakespeare and Company bookstore but we had no idea where it was. I asked a police officer who kindly pointed us in the right direction.
Unfortunately the store was completely out of any copies of Romeo and Juliet. Because of this Abby just got a book of poems and a journal and I just got a journal. And yes Klancie we got you a book of Sonets and Poems along with a journal, which all have the offical stamp of the bookstore in them.
We then were all getting pretty hungry, so after searching for what seemed like forever we found a place that looked like it might have something we like. Abby and I shared a Club sandwich and Mom decided to play it safe with spegetti. However the good part came with dessert. Abby and I split a chocolate and banana crepe which was to die for.
We then took the metro to Sacre Couer (which I know it as The Soccer Church on the hill since I still can't pronounce it right). However none of us wanted to climb the hill so we just took pictures from the bottom.
On the way down we were looking in some of the souvinor shops. Unfortunately while I was looking at some of the paper fans the guy next to me bumbed into the table and the two plastic manaquins above me fell right onto my head. I was more shocked then hurt since I thought the sky was falling, but the store owner didn't seem to care about me but more about the manaquins. We obviously didn't buy anything from that store them.
We then just decided to come back to the hotel and rest. Mom and I fell asleep while Abby read her book. We then ended up at our favorite place for dinner......you guessed it MCDONALDS. Anyway we are in for the night and are going to finish Paris out tomorrow with the Arc, Effifle Tower, and a boat ride down the river.
Update you again soon.
Love Ella
