Woke up this morning to beautiful blue skies with hot hot sunshine! But sadly couldn't stop to enjoy it as we were off to our first scuba diving session, which as it turns out is just like being back at school!! We are doing a 4 day PADI Scuba Dive Training course and we have to take exams and everything! So we started this morning with our instructor and began with the basics in the classroom and then after a lunch break we got to get set up with our diving gear (which looked very intimidating at first) and then headed out on the boad to one of the dive sites around the other side of the island.
After loading all that equipment onto our backs we had to take a giant leap into the water and first impression was....amazing! I've never experienced anything like it before. We headed into shallower waters to do the training parts and learn all the signals etc and then we had a mini dive adventure and it is just unreal! I love it! We have two dives tomorrow and then two the next day and can't wait to get back under water!!! Just a few scrapes on the coral which bloody hurts I can tell you, poor steph really scraped up her knees, but tiger balm cures all! There is so much to learn but its great fun!
The weather picked up this morning but its getting a bit windy looking again and seems to be another storm coming but hopefully it will be blown out by tomorrow morning!
Heading off shortly for dinner and drinks with our neighbours on the beach Bex and Cassie (but not too many cos can't dive with a hangover....we have been warned!) to celebrate our first steps under the sea!
Now you know what would make this trip absolutely perfect.........if someone could arrange to get rid of all the mosquitos that would be fantastic! And did I mention that we have a pet ghekko who lives in our hut.........
