Woke up early today 6.45am and packed my bag today we were headed North to Surin to see the elephant round up festival. Actually eat some toast for breccy at the hotel - was obviously gettin up too late before. the hotel porter jumped in our cab to Bangkok train st and was tryin to get us to get our tickets off his friend - but she was a bit slow n we'd seen train times on the internet so we ran! in the end the next train was 10.05 so we chilled watchin all the people coming and going with ice coffees (sure im not sposed to be havin ice but hey its yummy!)

at 8am on the dot they started playing 'long live the king' music and everyone stands up and still so we joined in. quite cool really- oh expereinced my 1st thai bog yuk!!! and came on to make things worse!!!

got on our train from platform 10 - trian was similar to the ones we have a t home - we managed to blag seats together so we didnt have to sit next to strangers.

journey took bout 7 and a half hrs was ok but really needed the toilet and it was mingin!!! hole in the floor lol! spent most of the journey reading my book - wicked! and lookin out the window we were havin a comp to see who could spot an elephant 1st but we didnt see any at all!

when we finally arrived at our station we were greated with a blockade of about 20 massive elephants with men riding them shoutin at me for rides!!! absolutley pooed myself. we didnt have anywhere to stay so we followed some peeps that looked like they knew wot they were doing, they didnt! we ended up walking all the way bk to the st and stayin in a place near there! it was exactly like the place on the film the beach quite daunting really. we shared a room but with twin beds - we both got a double for 500bht and our own bathroom - with cold shower!!

we haeded out pretty quick to a night market to find some food! i was gettin bitten left right n center bloody things - and i forgot the malaria tablets!!! idoit!!! got some food some spicy egg roll thingy with ground pork it was yummy - maybe as i hadnt eaten for like 9hrs but hey it was good.

the market was soooo pretty so many colours and smells i loved this compared to china town its not so hetic.

we headed bk to the hotel as i wanted some beer - we got some thai beer huge btl was yummy and refreshing they went down a bit too easily. we ended up sittin out the front of our hotel drinkin beer with a thai begger man he kept shouting elephant at us but he was cool (see pics)

we also met a french dude cant memba his name but we called him dupree. he was nice and took us to a thai bar

it was like a cabert (?) people dancin etc was cool - i met some thai girls and we danced and had a laugh but they never replaced my girlies at home!!!

we ended up buyin btls of whiskey as it was cheaper but got hammered!

i lost pye cudnt find him newhere and wanted to go bk to the room. - had to literally lie to dupree as he wanted to stay for longer! so did a skit and ran!!! went in everyphone box on the way bk to try n call home but to no avail im a nutta wen drunk!

some how managed to find the hotel aint got a clue how?? had to blag them to let me in the room as pye had the key - they did n it was all good

somehow the thai beer made the fact i was sleepin with cockroaches n mozzies ok!! fell asleep like a baby!
