Fabulous pics dear - brought back memories of Bangkok but they did not quite do justice to the humidity (or smells).

Went to Marske last Sat - had a great meal from Grandma and wore Uncle John's Boro shirt Birthday present. Dad was pretty reasonable about that really, and I am hopeful that the marks will eventually fade without leaving any long term scarring. I just told everyone at work that I had walked into a door. Incidentally he had my name stamped on the back and my number - but the 05 (my centre-half position as it was in the odl days) got turned around and became 50 - don't tell him but I'll have to take it back!

We will not discuss footie any more except to say that thanks to Arsenal your favourite Charlton team are currently providing an excellent 'foundation' for the Premiership table - you know what I mean!!!

Sadly both other House teams also got slaughtered over the weekend so Dave has stopped his sniggering.

Did an extra day's work 'banding' this Sat to try meet the Internet bills and keep up with your travels! Tim and Louise came for Sunday lunch with Ruby (now 3) and after that I fell asleep for an hour. Where did the weekend go? Mum is off to a singing thing tonight.

That's all our news. It is beginning to get cold and foggy in Derby and I am begging for your Mum to start up the central heating before mid-December as usual.

Can you give me your arrival date in Perth again sometime so I can alert the Dolans (and authorities)?

I just got excited at the thought of taking a £2.49 flight to Dublin next week with Unity, only to remember you're on the other side of the world. Not fair!

Hope you're well. Please don't go talking to any of those revolutionaries. Even if they do have big pretty bows on their tanks/gun/weapons of mass destruction ;-)

Things in London are ok. It was lovely weather last week, but today it is raining lots which is ick. But I know you will be incredibly jealous when I tell you that I went on a shopping spree on Saturday in Topshop and Kurt Geiger. I bought THE FITTEST pair of Carvela boots. Flat, grey, soft leather. They are so beautiful and I think they even rival riding elephants. I also bowed to the skinny jeans trend and bought some black skinny jeans that I can't even cross my legs in. Sigh, what one does for fashion.

So essentially, I'm not jealous in the slightest because I know by now you look gross and I have pretty things to wear ;)

Job hunting is going ok. Fingers crossed, I will be celebrating tomorrow. Did I tell you I am going speed dating on Friday? I must be absolutely mad - what should I wear?

Thanks for the messages, make sure you send regular gossip updates! Just popped in to the internet cafe to get some serious air con - its soo hot today! Im leaving bangkok tonight - cant say im that sad although we had an great night out last night! Heading down to Khao Sok National Park for some more spider induced scariness and then down to Krabi and Phi Phi. Cant wait to hit the beach.

Been shopping on Khaosan Road all morning- its so easy to buy loads cos everthing is a bargain. Bought muchos beachwear and fun things. Anyways i have an overnight train to catch but i will add another entry in a wee while - probs when i get to KL/Penang next week and I have more hideous stories to report!

You sound to be coping quite well! I still cannot for the life of me imagine you trekking around! I hope your having the best time ever!! Hope life with the bag is going ok so far and with the spiders! I would not be a fan of that!!

Think your coping v.well despite the injuries early on...hope your leg is ok!! I think the tuk tuks in Bangkok are like death traps!!
