WOW. Arriving on Christmas day and seeing the falls was just incredible!!
They really are a 'Wonder of the World'.
I decided to just go for it and did a 'Half Adreneline Day'!
This involved a lot of guts from my usually scaredy-cat bum and couldn't believe I actually did it!
We first did a 'flying fox' which was like a horizontal zipline and with SUCH amazing views was just incredible!
Next came a sitting zipline which was super speedy and a bit scary at the initial drop but then pretty awesome!!
And the grand finale was a Gorge Swing!! Which is basically like a bungee jump but you swing at the bottom instead of bouncing back up.
OH. MY. GOD.
This was ever so slightly terrifying!!
But as soon as I'd-literally-dove off the edge of this platform and it just felt like I would never stop falling; I wanted to go again!!
So I did!!
The couple who I was with saw me doing it and got scared and so I got to have their go and this time I was dropped off backwards!! WOW.
Such an amazing experience and definitely a different Christmas day.
Then came THE most active boxing day I've ever had-a whole day of White Water Rafting on the Zambezi!! Having been thrown out on the first Class 5 rapid and the boat flipping over, I just had an AWESOME time!! :D
DEFINTIELY something I'd reccommend.
The climb back up the gorge afterwards though was definitely something else and very nearly killed me! But I just kept thinking of the ice-cold drinks waiting at the top and just about made it in one piece!
The next morning I was leaving but still managed to squeeze in an early morning Lion Walk!
This was just INCREDIBLE and way exceeded my expectations!!
We were literally walking WITH the lions-stroking them and when they sat down we could have photos crouching behind them and it was just THE most amazing experience. To be with these lions in their natural habitat-no enclosures and no fences was truly amazing.
I simply can't describe it.
This did cause a bit of a rush and stress to get to the airport as still had to organise transport but made it eventually and onto the next leg of my trip!
