DAY14 - Merry Beach to Blue Mountains (327km)
An early morning as lots of driving to do today! I bounce out of bed full of beans, much to the annoyance of Billy as I drag him onto the beach for a swim at 7am! So we set off for the blue mountains to meet Linds and Keith very sad to be leaving what felt like a mini holiday destination of Merry Beach behind. I got very bored today in the car, wrote my journal, painted my nails, sang into my hairbrush and finally we arrived! A quick visit to the 3 sisters (as we were too tight to pay the parking fee!) and then a BBQ in the evening outside Bertha, Linds came over to visit, so a very nice evening involving a box of wine and 3 people putting the world to rights! Then a hike through town trying to find a taxi for Lindsay to get her back to her hotel.
DAY15 - Blue Mountains to Sydney (128km)
Bertha had to be back by 4.30pm today so a whistle stop tour of the mountains as we decide a package including a glass bottomed sky car, which Billy hated and spent the whole time clinging onto the edge! a train that travelled at almost 90 degree angle down the mountain, a short walk and then a cable car back up was the best way to see it all. My turn to drive today and Billy gets us extremely lost trying to return the camper, to the extent that we almost go over the harbour bridge when our drop off point was right near the airport, (check the map it's miles away!!). A quick catch up with Steve (Dabbers) over a few beers and I am on the Manly ferry making my way to Lindsays house for the evening.
Chez Lindsay, an interesting first morning spent cleaning maggots from her balcony following her unruly flat mates having a massive party and not clearing up!!! I hasten to add Lindsay has now moved to a very nice flat without kids and is very happy :-) Not feeling like cooking in her kitchen after that little experience we head out into Manly for breakie. This is how the day continues and we go from one bar/restaurant to the next , both catching up with friends, I didn't realise I knew so many people in Sydney. Found out today after copious drinks that my little sis is pregnant, how very exciting I'm going to be an Auntie.
Very fittingly the next day I spend the whole day at Midge and Rob's (a couple I met in India and then went out to visit in France skiing) they have just had twins, Matilda and William who are both adorable. So I got practise in with pooing, sleeping and feeding, not too much crying although I think i got them on a good day! :-)
