On Tuesday morning, Sam, Fran and I left the rest of the group and headed to San Diego. It was very strange at first to be in such a small group after being so used to being around so many of our friends all the time. The journey was very quick and we arrived in our hostel, settled in before going out for some food. We then wandered around the Historic Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego and popped into a few of the shops. We walked to the Broadway Pier and just relaxed for a bit there before returning to the hostel for an early night. Wednesday was my final day in California, we went to Ocean Beach and had a nice relaxing day looking in the shops and sleeping on the beach. I had my final paddle in the Pacific Ocean, before we walked back through the Farmers Market and picked up some vegetables as we had decided to cook dinner in our hostel that night. We made homemade guacamole and nachos! Fran and I then packed our bags and we had another early night ready for our flight back to New York the next morning. San Diego was a really pretty town with a really relaxed atmosphere, which was exactly what we needed after being so busy the entire summer.
