Ever since I spent a week in New York at the start of my trip, I was so excited to return and on Thursday 13th September, my friend Fran and I left San Diego for New York, our flight was 3 hours delayed, as a part for the plane had to be flown in from LA, typical. However we made it to New York and back to the HI Hostel where my American adventure began. That evening, Fran and I went to Times Square for dinner, we found this really cool diner on Broadway called Ellen's Diner where all the waiting staff were aspiring Broadway stars, so there was live singing which gave the place a really fun and lively atmosphere. The food and cocktails were also delicious. After dinner we did a bit of shopping in the massive Forever 21 in Times Square before our tiredness caught up with us and we headed off back to the hostel and to bed.
On Friday, we had a bagel brunch in Central Park and enjoyed the last bit of sunshine as it was my last full day in the USA! Fran then left me as she was meeting her dad who had flown into New York to meet her. It was my first time alone properly in 3 and half months, so I took myself off shopping. I picked up a few final souvenirs and some make up from my favourite make up shop Sephora. After this, I met up with the Montenegrin guys who I had worked with at Trimpers in Central Park, which was lovely. After leaving them, I realised I was right by the famous Apple Store on 5th Ave, so I popped in to have a look and walked out an hour later with my brand new iPhone 4S. As I was now suitably broke I returned to the hostel and got ready to go clubbing with a group from the hostel that evening, as I had done in June when I stayed there. My friend Fran also joined me again so I was really happy to see her and we had a really good last night out in NYC. The next morning, I woke up, not very chirpy from the night before and so sad at the thought that I was leaving, I went to the airport and then left the USA, after the best summer of my life. I had the best experience, made some amazing new memories and some even better new friends.
