Woke up at 6am on the dot again, really annoying, we're all waking up at a similar time and by 8-9 at night we're b*****ed. Can't do that tonight though the soccer doesn't kick off until 9 =]
Yesterday we headed to the lourve, walked of course. It was good and some of the sculptures were quite incredible yet none of us really have an appreciation for art so we quickly got over it. We walked through a few exhibitions and tracked down the mona lisa and left. We then made our way to notre dam, which is pretty cool to see but once again, after already seeing 3-4 other cathedrals, there's only so many you can look at. So we had a brief look inside and headed back to our apartment for lunch. I think we were all just over walking around and looking at things. We were undecided as what to do last night. The girls wanted to head to the moulin rougue and see a show but gez and i didn't have the 'required' attire to get in. Thus had to give that a miss. Instead we went on a dinner cruise on the seine (main river that goes past all the main landmarks).
Had a bit of a struggle finding it as the taxi driver who took us claimed he made a few wrong turns and ended up driving in circles for a while but we found it in the end.
It was only 50 euro for 3 course meal which as pretty decent. The food was not too bad but the entree was all fancy shiz like pattee's, quale egg, fig sangas etc, which was good to try yet none of us finished it all. The cruise was good but by 8 we had all started to hit the wall and get really tired. Once the cruise had ended we took a cab back to the apartment and called it a night.
Today I think the plan is shopping for the girls and gez n i are going to hit up this gym i read about online. If they're still shopping once we're done i guess we'll go explore or maybe even shop a lil.. maybe haha..
I think the plan is to hit up sacre ceur this arvo (it's a castle i believe) and then tonight we have the soccer, PSG vs Toulouse, which i'm pretty excited about. Should be good to see some world class soccer.
Anyway i absolutely reek so shower time it is then off to the bakery a few doors down for the usual fresh bread, coffee and crossoint. Oh i've been meaning to add, everyone says that the french are snobby/snooty and don't like you if you don't make an effort to speak french etc etc or that's what ive heard. Just wanted to say that so far MOST people have been really really nice and helpful. There's been numerous times where the language barrier was an issue as many people speak little english but with their little english, in combo with our attempted french we managed ok and they were happy to help. There has been a few people who are a tad snooty when they realise we don't speak french but i guess you get that everywhere. Another thing, there's so many people with dogs here yet every time we stop and ask if we can pat their dog, they're like "no no no no". Perhaps they don't socialise their dogs here, who knows..
Anywho shall post again tomorrow morning hopefully and report back on what occurred today =].
