We spent a good 3 hours in the Nacogdoches Public Library! Ah life in the fast lane. Actually it was pretty interesting. we spent the whole time in their local history section. Old news stories, Civil War records, etc. Still nothing on Henry. Later we'll head to nearby Chireno. We believe Sanford's first wife Sara Mathews is buried there. She had 11 children and died at age 31!!!!

Chireno is about 12 feet long and has no Internet. The Chireno Lower Cemetery is deep in rolling, piney woods logging country. It's just beautiful. We found my great grandfather's first wife and a couple other folks. Very interesting place. Next, off to Center TX.

Last night we stayed in Mesquite at a Hampton Inn. It was better than we expected except when the hotel fire alarm went off at 6:30. Turned out that a toaster started smoking somewhere. Mom slept NONE last night due to my snoring, so now she's driving the car! Pray for us! We visited the Kaufman county courthouse this morning, found one great uncle, Joshua Sanford Wilson, and connected the dots. Back on the road now heading to Nacogdoches.

We drove through the Piney Woods to Nacogdoches today. It's raining now, so we went to the County courthouse and searched through old records. We still haven't found where Henry is buried, but we found some old records such as Wills being probated. We are checked in to our hotel for the night. Hopefully mom will get sleep tonight.

From Corsicana we move on to Kaufman county and tiny Wilson's Chapel out in the country. Its an actual functioning UMC church. This place was mentioned by my father but we were not sure who we'd find other than my father's father's mother, Harriett Ann Trotti Wilson. We found LOTS of Wilsons and took lots of pictures!
