Hey!
Sorry, will load photos asap it just takes soooo long and cant afford to do it in the interent cafe. but stef lives in posh family so will do it at hers at some point this week.
Firstly can not believe that England lost-devastating!! Mum and Dad sound like you've had a wicked weekend! And PLAY UP POMPEY!!!! Haha! Has put a big smile on my face and dad you're a lucky boy!! I hope you think of me wednesday!!
Rescue bird sounds like a fab idea:) Have you come up with anymore names...open for ideas from anyone...name for a chicken- the two we have are called marjorie and ethel! Havent eaten guinea pig yet its a delicousy and no goats testicles unfortunately!;) However...I have eaten tripe!! Ha! was so proud of myself! We got given it at the school. The pigs intestines kinda reminded me of calamari- similar texture...I actually kinda liked it. Although there is this sauce that you get given with every meal and so I decided to try it on a bit of potato....all the teachers were watching me with a look of shock on their faces...I didnt really understand why until I popped the potato and this dollop of sauce in my mouth and my whole head started to feel like it was about to explode!...Spicey is not the word for it!...however I could feel all eyes on me and so no way was I going to let on...I played it cool chewed it slowly, casually took a sip of my hot water to try and numb the burning sensation...I think I passed as hardcore! I slyly told stef in english who was hysterical! The teachers couldnt believe I ate it! Nor could I!
Have had a wicked week, very exhausting however!! I've been to pilates which was awesome!! I want to go every week and hopefully starting salsa classes next week:) HA! Check me out;)
Friday went to a big university party thing got somewhat drunk on the free beer! Never been quite so drunk so early in the day before was bizarre! ooo and my friends "brother" has a lush beatle which he drove us around in! Loved it! Again driving has some what a need to be improved!! Friday night went to this huge club thing in the middle of nowhere! and drunk lots of tequila slammers! Was really good fun! I thought of you dad in that mexican restaurant on my birthday in tenerife when you tried to chuck the lemon up and catch it in your mouth...however mister smooth missed completely!! Saturday me and Stef had a lyein....oooo was lush!! then we got up and did a little window shopping before bus trekking it to a friends house for a night of poker and twister!!
Woke up very early this morning and did a couple more hours of bus trekking to mitad del mundo! (middle of the world) I stood either side of the equator it was amazing and so so beautiful!! Found out so many interesting facts about the indigenous people that originally lived here, I got to shoot a arrow of poison and I hit the target which was a cactus leaf:) I saw one of the real shrunken heads of a twelve year old warrior!! It was 150 years old! and the weird thing is that the hair keeps growing!! Was crazy! Went to an amazing museum where I've discovered a fantastic new artist- Crisotbal someonearather...?! I've also got inspiration from a blurred photo I captured of a man and women dressed in tradtional clothing and perfoming a traditional spiritual dance for a huge painting when I get home colours of the costumes were amazing! Went to the crater of Pululahua a dormant volcano-was stunning. It consists of beautiful farm land a pockets of houses.
Me and Stef got very lost on the bus home ended up in the dreaded south which is very dangerous with only an hour til dark!! But some poor old lady who sells icecream on the streets rescued us off the bus and we walked miles together to find a trole sation which took us safely back home!! People are very helpful here.
Planning a trip to the coast next week for semana santa (easter week) Found some lush surfing beaches that I really want to visit!! Going to get back for good Friday because the festival in the old town of Quito is incredible apparently! 95% of people here are catholic so it's a huge celebration!
Debbie- So excited for you! sounds fab!! I miss you muchums! Really miss your homely cooking too- would you send me out some of your wonderful curry?!
Touch wood..no spiders or creepy crawlies what so ever! I've not seen a single one since I'v got here…its probs bout the only think I don't miss about Squirrels holt!!;)
Carol-You'd fit in just fine here on the roads! As long as you have hazard lights!...Ecuadorians seem to think you can do anything you like as long as you have your hazards on…drive up the pavement, go through red lights, I've seen people go down the wrong way on a dual carriage way! But its ok…because they have their hazards in!Can't believe cohen is one! Time has gone ridiculously fast! Best wishes. Nice one with Andy learning Spanish! Even if it is jus because he likes the teacher;) Lets hope he can impress her!
