Had my first couple of days at school and CENIT.

School was fun for the first day but very challenging trying to teach english to a class of kids who are more interested in kissing and cuddling you! Feeling quite useless at the school because the text books that the children are working from are often incorrect and are all american so hard to know whether to teach them correctly or just stick to the books.

Feel quite like an animal in a big zoo! and we're kind of left to find our own way around this alien city! Which is huuuuuuuuge! But gradually getting used to the transport.

Yesterday played with the street children in a market. Was fun but very sad.. poverty is VERY evident here and a few of the children are very violent which is really worrying about what goes on at home. We gave them dinner portions and cups of juice to take home to their families and am now beginning to feel some importance of why we're here.

This week has been very slow and hard...speaking spanish and constantly trying to understand it can be very tiring and frustrating!! We're missing home comforts like HOT water! Galaxy chocolate! Bacon sandwiches! (kinda fed up of the cabbage soup from my veggie family! after 7 days of the stuff!) and feeling safe!

But sun is out today:) and making us feel alot happier...seems a much nicer place in the sun!

Got very burnt tho the other day!! resemble rudolph!
