Santa Clara, New Mexico
Though today was to be a “town day,” we changed plans and went to Puye Cliff Dwellings, about an hour north and west of Santa Fe. It is operated by the Santa Clara Puebloans, direct descendants of the earlier residents. We had been here before, years ago and looked forward to another visit.
“Puye” means “where rabbits gather.”…
Arolyn Those are painted glass panes! Isn’t that a great idea to transform doors and walls of glass to enclose an area? I think they were already there, and they just used that method to get rid of a transparent wall. I wondered what that area was used for before. The La Fonda was built in 1922.
re: Lunch at La FondaPaula The soup sounds fascinating!! And you can never go wrong with a Reuben!! The wall is very interesting! Are those needlework squares?
