After tendering to the port of Nynashamn we boarded a coach for a 50 minute scenic journey through the picturesque countryside of Sweden. Arriving in the capital Stockholm at10.00 am. Our primary goal to soak in the local culture and purchase the obligatory fridge magnet . Upon completion of this task we wandered through the old town centre. Once again old buildings and cobblestone streets. Delightful European atmosphere with very attractive well dressed fair people. Today started cold this morning and turned into a beautiful sunny spring day . We have learned to dress in layers in this part of the world. Another of our tasks in each European country is to try the local beer which entails using the restroom. Tick for magnet , beer and restroom. While meandering through the old city we chanced upon a shop selling would believe mini authorized Fender 1/10 th replica Stratocastor and Telecastor guitars. A fitting souvenir of our visit to Sweden . While waiting for our coach at the harbour we luncheoned in a very elegant restaurant. Sampling the local produce, beer and schnapps . David trying the boar sausage with venison and cabbage while I had the huge asparagus with white sauce and egg yolk dressing - very tasty. Followed by some local and Swiss cheeses . Excellent meal in a poshy Stockholm restaurant. On the coach and back on the ship by 4 pm. Another good day on our european bactic cruise . Tonight we dined in the Moonlight Sonata restaurant at our designated table, 6.15 pm sitting. Enjoyed the company of Judy and Buddy the grandparents from Texas. Another early night , back to our stateroom by 9pm .
