As we come to the end of our holiday, a recap on my thoughts. Love the Padma resort Legian Bali . The resort is twenty years old and beautifully maintained , ..gorgeous established gardens , lots of staff. Our Garden Club chalet , a fancy name for a very comfortable room on the first floor in a block of four over looking the gardens. After departing Brisbane at 10.30 am on a strategic flight we arrive 8 hours latter via a refuel in Darwin. Our accommodation at the Padma resort , Legian is excellent , very pleased ( thanks Dom , magic choice) We check in , great room on the first level with a garden view. I am writing this on a flight from K.L. to Sydney . At this time 11.00 pm we should be tucked in our own bed at home safe and sound . Alas not , our 4 pm flight yesterday from Dubai was diverted to Denpasar then to KL hence we missed our connection to Brisbane . We were put up at a very nice Marriott hotel for 6 hours , a meal , shower and a couple of hours sleep, ( not happy , would rather be at home ) a late evening flight to Sydney . Today we leave Dubai after four days . Our impressions ofUnited Arabic Emirates - very hot , very dry , loved the new city , lots of building , surprised at how big Dubai is, and in the arid dessert . People friendly ( mostly from Pakistan or foreign countries ) good accommodation at the Jumeriah Hilton. Next stop home ! Duty free shopping and David bought me a new Tag watch as an early birthday present.

Today we take an hour taxi ride to Abu Dhabi for the much awaited visit to Ferrari World. Having arrived before the opening time of noon we awe in the sheer size and expense of building this under cover air conditioned extravaganza . Opened only seven months ago, all is still bright and shiny. We experience the Scuderia Challenge. A state of the art racing simulator , racing ferraris on the virtual Yas Marina Circuit.
