Sunbathed yesterday. At 4.30 went to the "old market" for a guided tour, starting off at the fixed price shops to get an idea of quality and cost. There was a huge range of quality from horrendous to very good .There was six of us on the minibus and in the first shop one of the ladies got very excited at the handbags and then grabbed Linda's genuine Michael kors hand bag and said that no one could tell the difference unless they got really close up and no one would do that. We smiled nicely as she disappeared into the market in search of the ultimate bargain. She returned 2 hours later exhilarated at her purchase of a new handbag which she insisted on showing us and telling us she paid less then a £10- her new Jimmy "Chew" handbag was magnificent , but let's hope her friends can't spell !!
The camel herders mate was there as he tried the same trick with a photo as the camel peed all over the street, splashing my good pants in the process.
Bought a few genuine fakes for the kids- wallet, shoes, handbag and a nice ornament to remind us of our time in Egypt .
A new mosque being built started blasting out " a calling to pray" at 7 pm which was very impressive.
Home , then for a great meal on the beach front diner, the only challenge being a 400 yard walk to the toilet.
