aaaaaa so my 2nd trip to Koh Tao has come to an end and although i made great friends and had an amazing time in Phangan i think koh tia is my favourite place i've travelled so far, so beautiful and laid back.
My reason for returning to Koh Tao is so i could do my course here because the waters are clear, the surroundings goregous and itas half the price than in Aus! I finished my course yesterday so i'm not a certified open water diver! yyyewwwww! Think i'm going to start working my way to rescue diver :D
The course was good fun, it was just me and one other guy and our instructor laura so i think we got taught well. Did some pool training and 4 open water dives at Sairee Reef and Twins to get our qualification. Because weve had alot of rain (its the start of the wet season here) the visibility hasnt been great but we still saw some cool stuff, i saw a blue spotted stingray :D my aim by the end of my 6month trip is to see a turtle!! and hopefully some sharks...good ones not bad ones haha
Had a bit of a didgy experience on my last dive, me and Neil (other guy on my course) were set a task using our compasses. We had to swim norht for 10 seconds then turn around and swim back, sounds simple enough right?? well by time we were on our way back we were so focused on our compasses we managed to lose each other and within 2 seconds i couldnt see him or infact anything, literally just blue, i turned and looked up and saw two boat right above me! had a bit of a panik because i'd obviously started to ascend and at speed which is not good to do when diving! so i started to let air out of my BCD and started breathing out , then my airs starting hurting because i was going down so fast so i had to pace myself but iall i was thinking was i want to get away from these boats! Another woman spotted me and asked me if i was ok which calmed me a bit and i knew id managed to descend ,then i saw Laura who looked a little panicked that i managed to get lost! so it was all ok in the end!
the last 4 nights have been really quiet compared to koh phangan and i've been missing spending time with the hostle crew. but i have had a chance to relax for a while and finally get some proper sleep last night. I spent the day on the decking infront of the sea today because we had our first sunny day in a few days so i made the most of it.
Now im ready to meet people and party again so i'm getting the night boat at 9pm (and hoping to god its not like the last) to Surat Thani then quickly hoppin on a bus to Krabi!
Then its either stay in Krabi or to Railay for some climbing the to Koh phi phi for a couple of days :D i'm pretty excited to be moving on to yet another island and more beaches!
there is some postcards to be heading peoples way but the post office has been shut all day to do for some reason so i'll see if i can find one in Krabi
Until next time :d x
