aaaah so after somehting stupid like 50hours traveling i made it to Bali. I travelled on a boat, a large tuk tuk taxi, 2 minibuses, a coach, a taxi, a sky train, another coach, 2 planes and a motorbike to get here although i did stay in KL for half a day so it wasn't constant traveling but was always moving to the final destination.
When i flew in to Bali Lee and Mumbles picked me up on their bikes, mumbles had my backpack on and i went on the back of lees bike with my case. Were staying in Suka Beach Inn which is pretty good, free breakfast, swimming pool, big rooms with balcony-alot better than some of the bamboo huts i've been sleeping in.I'm staying in Kuta which is just like a busy little hub, alot of street markets like thailand and a few surf shops dotted around the place. You can tell its surf orientated here tho, loads of posters and advertisements everywhere, board shops every other shop, i landed in the airport and the first thign i saw was a giant roxy poster.
The weather is ridculously hot, maybe even hotter than thailand if its possible, it does not feel like christmas is in a month!! Been surfing a couple of times at Canggu since i've been here, the waves are so clean i love it, its been pretty small but think its picked up today , i'm more than happy with 2ft tho.Got a new board, well 2nd hand but its in pretty good condition so i'm hoping i get on well with it because its going to be travelling around with me for the next 5months!
I wernt shopping the first day i was here and i can't believe how cheap it is compared to home, i spent hours looking in the surf shops and spent abotu 2,000,000 IDR (125GBP) and got loads for my money. think i need to stay away from the shops for a bit now tho before i spend all of my money and have to sleep on the beach everynight in Aus.
The foods good here too, i've eaten so much local food since i left the UK i'm starting to go off my favourite things from home and i'm eating alot healthier most of the time.I have still had a few pizzas in the last 3weeks tho!looking forward to trying some more local food. Its pretty cheap, your looking at 3GBP for a meal and drink and its gooood food! Went out last night with Nick, Laura, Stewie, Katie, Mumbles and Bungle, we ended up doing rounds of Caiprihanias which are 60p each! 60p!!! dangerous. We moved onto another little bar and ended up in bounty by which point i was wasted and so i left not long after we got there.
I've now got a scooter here but havn't been out on it properly yet. Just going to take it slow and i should pick it up soon enough, Lee gave me a lesson and i got on alright with it so i'll just see how it goes. Don't worry Dad if i don't feel safe i won't use it!The roads actually aren't too bad here because its so busy so you can't drive fast or anything just have to watch out for whats around you. Literlaly everyone is riding them here tho, its the only way to get to the other beaches.
Having a great time still, i love the fact that i'm not even a month into my trip and ive already done so much, its good to be staying somewhere longer than 4days so i can settle a little here. I'm off to surf :D
