Stopped at Dublin Castle which was once a viking settlement, Norman Castle and British Castle. Bought a book on the history to read later on. Really interesting. REPOSTED - October 29/07 It's over. The race was a bit cool to start, then ideal race conditions, then cool to the finish. The crowds along the way were outstanding cheering the whole way which was good because there were more that a few hills that started to wear you out. 2 Hours before he race so this will be a quick one. Yesterday was one of getting familiar with the way to the race and a bit of quick sightseeing. Waked to the race package pickup and the line up was about 4 blocks long. Apparently there are over 11,000 participants. The race package was pretty good and we received a shirt from the international fun run in the morning. Traded a shirt for a Leukemia group one and also got a Miller Lite Cap (awful looking one ...

Finally arrived in Dublin after what felt like the longest plane ride ever. Took nearly 21 hours real time to get here. More experienced travelers must agree that jumping 7 hours in time zones is better to do during the daytime than at night. It's interesting flying into such a busy airport as Heathrow as I took a few pictures of planes in the air that seemed to be much closer than aviation rules would allow.
