Hey guys
I haven't been able to post pics cos other people have lost theirs when they uploaded them. So apologies...you'll have to just picture it haha.
I'm still a bt sore, but deffo on the mend from my fall. We came to McLeod Ganj this weekend to get away from the camp. Its an amazing place and of course the home of the Dalai Lama and a lot of tibetans, monks. Its a really cool place to just chill in, everyone is so friendly.
The night before in palampur, one of our jeeps was attacked by a mob and our driver was pulled out and had his clothes ripped off. Think they werelookin for someone. Anyhow we thought we'd get away for MEAT (all they serve is Veggy food here, chapati dal and some veg...) and drink. The shops here are amazing, I 've spent a few bob buying loads, all good tho!! Richard Gere and Goldie Hawn come here a lot. One shop I bought stuff form has pics of them in there. I've had some tibetan tea as well....salt and butter, deffo an aquired taste!! The complex where the dalai lama lives was full of tibetans fasting when we arrived....it was in protest obviously against the occupation etc. He wasn't in town when we were there, but you have to pre-regsiter to meet him anyway.
They have a wide variety of good restaurants there and COFFEE!! We sat on a restaurant terrace in the night to get merry and watch the stars... Some guy from Delhi bought us drinks...everyone is sooo kind here. Thety will go that extra mile to help you...ring others on mobiles to ask directiosn for you etc...
As Mcleog Ganj is sooo high up the clouds just fdrift in of a night, we were drinking coffee and it was so coool to see it comin in slowly and then all of a sudden it was dark.
Anyhow...I'm lookin to stay there longer now when I teach Tibetan refugees conversational English here. So watch this space...
One more note, I had my hari cut the other day....its kinda cool goin through the experiecne in all diff counties, so I got the indian cut, which is very short on the sides and back and graduated into side, just a little shorter than I usually get.
