( That's OH MY GOD, Mum.)
OMG
OMG
OMG
WOW!
WOW!
WOW!
You should see this place.
First of all, we have a room, with a balcony, overlooking the pool, the Aegean Sea and Guvercin Adasi!
( it is also called Pigeon Island by tourists.)
That's the Island with the ruins of the Fort just off the coast of a Kusadasi that I have been excited about for 6 months!
I saw the photo of this Island with the full Moon behind it.
It is a full moon tomorrow night..
But, today I noticed the the moon actually rose way over the other side of the sky.
If I want to see the full moon over these ruins, I may have to be up rather early!
( What is art without sacrifice?)
And we have a perfect view of it from our balcony!
After jumping up and down and hugging each other for a full 5 minutes ....
Really!
Really!
We did that!
You should see this wonderful place!
.....we changed into bathers and into the pool.
Just relaxing in the water with 4 from our tour.
Magnificent!
Absolutely magnificent!
Then Emily went for a wander to check out the pontoon and pier with hammocks and lounges down 1 floor at the ocean.
I caught up with her and we headed to the bar.
( This really sounds like a boozy trip but it's not really. Just a drink and taking in the view.)
Emily...." A beer, thank you."
The beer duly appears.
Me... "Whiskey and diet coke thank you."
Bartender ..." Whiskey is not inclusive, Madame."
" What does that mean?"
" Beer is free. Whiskey is not."
" You mean, drinks are free?"
" Yes, Madame but not whiskey."
I am a flexible person.
I changed drinks!
Alcohol is included.
How did a I not know this?
Anyway, 3 drinks does not break the bar, but I tried extra hard.
We sat with 6 of our group....
....after frantically arm waving and signalling them to say "THE DRINKS ARE FREE."
And that wasn't a short conversation either.
The first reaction was "What?"
Followed by a "No."
Followed by "Save me a seat."
So we all sat round this table, still in our bathers, towels draped around, looking out over the Aegean Sea, sipping drinks on this huge terrace.
We had a ball!
Then upstairs.
Out of the bathers ...
Into other clothes.
Down to a smorgasbord dinner.
OMG.
I have always wondered why people take photos of food when they travel.
NOW I know why they do that!
Huge mains everywhere.
Anything you could think of.
But that wasn't the best bit.
Desserts.
Wow.
( I feel very sick.)
Bananas in the thickest chocolate sauce you can imagine.
As a side dish, every imaginable flavour of ice cream.
I had them all and then went back again.
The young guy dishing up the ice cream started grinning at me when I was 50 feet away from him!
And then, back at the table, I noticed everyone else had their ice cream in a small glass bowl.
Not me.
No wonder he was grinning.
I approached him like Oliver ... and I was carrying a dinner plate both times.
Anyway, knowing when to stop is the key I have always thought.
So I stopped.
Back on our balcony, watching the lights over the water, blogging.
This place is magnificent.

Joan Rae If you are susceptible to charming salesmen - leave your wallet at home!!!I have spent more money in Kusadasi than anywhere else in the world.Been there 3 times and fall for it every time. You would think at my age I would have more resistance. Keep enjoying and think of the money you are saving on drinks!!! Love "A" Joan
