Today I am writing my last blog in OZ, and it has been quite a a hectic week since I wrote last. On the previous saturday I travelled down to Sydney, which was odd when everybody was going in the opposite direction towards the beach. In Syd I met up with max ane anne (anna) at the train, were there was a drunk Polish man which is not a good thing when you are with to Germans. At the station me and max left anne, to go to the blue mountains to meet up with Wayne who was another volunteer. Wayne and his family are wonderful, they even took us to an outdoor movie showing at some kind of young church group. We watched the worst movie ever, " A never ending story", everybody was really nice and made us feel really welcome and we had home made pizza's. The next day wayne took the pair of us round the blue mountain national park.
We got back to Sydney late afternoon and met up with anna at the railway YHA, which was as good as any hotel. That evening I was excited about going to oktober fest ( which is kind of like a german beer and food event). But what anna had seen was the tents of sydney marathon. So instead we took pictures of the harbour and opera house. On the way back to the hostel I went to a famous pub called the three monkeys and watched the chelsea/ manu game. I will never complain about the cost of a pint of stella again. Plus it was amusing watching the game with what seemed the J S Park fan club.
The next day we moved out the YHA and found a cheaper hostel, and you get what you pay for. As a rule of thumb if it has irish people in, it is poor. In the afternoon we did a walk from coogee to bondi beach. I was hoping to be impressed and spend my last week there. I don't if it was because it was a cold day, but Scarborough looks better. After a good nights sleep I tried t o take in as much of sydny as possible. I did the usual things like walk the bridge, and my highlight of sydney was going on the ferry and going to Manly.
On that day I had a choice of staying in sydney for my last weekand buying a rugby jersey or going somewhere else. So I looked on the internet and got a cheap flight to cairns. The Quantas flight was really good apart from the landing which was a bouncer. been to the reef it was great. to be continued.
