DAY 20: MORE MUSEUMS!
We got some snow overnight here in DC and there was just a little more bite in the air this morning. Thankfully we got all our walking out the way yesterday, cause today was museum day, i.e. we spent it indoors!
We are so lucky with the location of our hotel (cnr of 7th and F sts for you google mappers), cause after a short 15min stroll we were back in the warmth of the National Air and Space Museum.
The craft on display in this building is just mind boggling - e.g. the actual command module of the Apollo 11 mission that went to the moon, to surviving fighter planes that fought in the Battle of Britain, they're all here and within touching distance. Throw in a planetarium, a 3D IMAX theatre and a few flight simulators ("roll it daddy!!") and before you know it, the day had almost passed!
We did squeeze in an hour or so at the neighbouring National Museum of the American Indian, but for the most part the day belonged to the skies.
Tomorrow morning we have a tour booked at the Capitol Building on the Hill, after which we may take in another museum (or two) - there is just so much to see in this city!
