I woke after having the worst nights sleep, the air con in the hostel room was so high it was like the Antarctica! I packed my stuff up and headed to the ferry port early to catch a ferry back to Ko Samui. The boat journey back was much better than the journey over, not quite as choppy! On arriving back in Ko Samui, it felt weird to think this was where I'd had left Sarah. I caught a taxi to the airport and was happy to find I had been booked onto the earlier flight as there were seats available which was perfect as I had a two hour wait in the airport for my original flight which was cheaper. The airport was literally the cutest airport you could ever imagine. It was all open, with straw roof buildings or shacks should I call them. There was a little shopping mall that looked like something on a childrens program, it was so perfectly built, it looked fake! It's hard for me to express, it was just such a bizarre but amazing airport, I've never been anywhere like that before. Once I reached my gate, which again was all open but covered by a straw thatched roof, I was pleasantly surprised to find a lounge with a buffet of free food. I was loving life! Ko Samui was definately geared up more for holiday makers as apposed to travellers. There was also a free meal on the flight with Bangkok Airways. I was pretty much stuffed by this point. 2 hours later and with a very full belly, we arrived in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.
I'd purposely booked into a hotel not too far from the airport so that it was easy for me to get my flight back to England. I still had to get a taxi to the hotel although it wasn't too far from the airport. I queued for ages in the stuffy humidity of Bangkok Airport, with lots of people pushing in which only irritated me and others more. My bags were pretty heavy by this point in my travelling too as I'd bought loads to take home. I was looking forward to going through my rucksack and getting rid of what clothes I could. After 45 minutes of que waiting and a 10 minute taxi ride, I arrived at my final accomodation of my travelling trip. The hotel wasn't overly exciting and there were no facilities with nothing nearby but I didn't care, I was so excited to be going home after two more sleeps.
I dropped my stuff off at the hotel and headed towards the sky train so I could make my way into Bangkok city centre. En route I saw my first ever real life snake in the middle of the road. I had really wanted to see one in HK but never did, now one day before I go home, I got to see one!It was massive too, Chuffed! After catching the sky train into the centre, I got off at what I thought was the most central station and started to walk. I had no idea of where I was going so just kept asking people until eventually, 30 minutes later, I saw the top of the shopping mall central world. Once I got there, I shopped around for a bit although I wasn't actually keen on buying too much considering I was on my way home soon to the depths of English winter. I decided to go to the cinema to watch 'Interstellar', first time I'd been to the cinema on my own! The film was alright, bit bizarre but nice just to chill. After, I walked back to the sky train to make my way back to the hotel. While I was waiting for the train, it suddenly dawned on me, this was my last proper night and day of my travels. Eventhough I'd had been expecting this obviously, it still felt really surreal that my travelling trip was nearly over and I was heading back to reality! It took a while to get back to my stop, I kept falling asleep but was anxious I might miss my stop so was trying to force myself to stay awake. Eventually I made it back, found a taxi and headed back to the hotel for a much needed sleep.
