Today was awesome!!! We started off with hiking on top of Kings Canyon. It was simply breathtaking and I was in heaven surrounded by beautiful rock formations. Especially after Lamina, my latest furniture piece that was inspired by slot canyons, I couldn't help but think of design when I was walking around. It was really windy and was dangerous to get close to the edge but the views were so great, it was hard not to get close. It felt so good to be walking around and feeling my heart beat through every inch of my body again. I thought this whole trip was going to get me in shape because we'd be doing activities and walking around the whole time. Instead, I found myself walking a little bit around each stop that we made but mainly sitting on the bus to get from destination to destination. Let's just say that I'm afraid I've gained some weight from all this eating and sitting....noooooo. But that is just another reason why I liked this hike that much more. Felt so good. The only thing that I can complain about is that when I'm around nature and away from the city, I like to be quiet and listen to the natural sounds. The problem with traveling with such a big group is that everyone talks! And trust me, some people in my group can not shut up sometimes so while I was walking, I would hear people babbling the whole time, especially these two girls going off in German about something. All I wanted was to hear the wind blowing in this amazing natural creation.
Then!!!! We all split up to do our additional activities and this is when I got to go quad biking!!!! It was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun! I think I've found my new hobby, I couldn't believe how much fun it was! They were surprisingly much easier to drive than I thought and I must boast that I was able to keep up with the boys, woo hoo. We were all in a single file line and went through this awesome maze of dirt roads that weaved between tons of leaveless trees with dangerous branches in your way. You always had to duck to avoid the branches and could feel them whack against your helmet, it was so awesome. Sometimes I'd feel like I was going to flip over or run into a tree but that just made it that much more exciting. I felt like I was handling a monster underneath me, it definetely gave my arms a work out to try to control this thing. I want one!! I was jumping up and down after I got off filled with the biggest adrenaline rush I've felt in a loooong time. =)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=) Too much funnnnnn!!!!
Today was simply awesome. One of my favorite days of the trip for sure!
