Well another day of adventure. Went to Homer today- right to the end of the spit- a narrow strip of land that juts out into the Cook inlet. Very touristy, fishing area with lots of charter fishing and shops of course. This is the halibut capitol of the world. We decided to bite the bullet and go out on a charter next week, but of course forgot to ask about Canadian customs so will have to check it out tomorrow to see if we can bring the fish home and what we are allowed without duty. Can't find anything on the website about it so will have to call I guess. With our luck it will probably cost us a fortune. Anyway Homer was very interesting. We could sit on the beach and watch the water level change. They have tide changes twice a day with a water level change of 28feet!!! Amazing. You literally could sit and watch the water level rise and fall. You could also sit and watch the sea otters as they coasted around in the water. They are so funny to watch and I was able to get some great footage of this one old guy that seemed to be performing for the tourists. He came about 5-6 feet from shore and frolicked around quite comically. We got a good look at Mt. Redoubt which is one of three active volcanoes in the area. I guess this one had erupted just last spring. No sign of anything around here though. I think tomorrow will be a quiet day, maybe I will send Bruce fishing!!
