Douglas Brown's Travels
Day 9
A late breakfast this morning then our tour guide took us for a short walk along the left bank of the Danube and across the bridge to the central markets. After an hour exploring the two floors of the markets and enjoying a local dark beer, I set off to explore more of the city.
Stopping for lunch at a British Sports Bar where I enjoyed. Pint if Guinness and the third quarter of the Richmond/ Eagles game.
All up I took 18104 steps for the day and rubbed a blister on the ball of each foot.
The plan was to stay in that night and catch up on my blog, emails and washing. However, I bumped into four members of the other touring group in the hotel lobby. They were planning on taking a dinner cruise on the Danube and they ask me to join them so I did.
We enjoyed a three hour cruise, a delicious 4 course meal and live entertainment of two duelling grand pianos. The tour motored up stream from the embarkation point then turned around and did an equal distance down stream. We did this route three times. Once in full daylight, Once at dusk and again after dark. The changing vista of stunning architecture combined with the changing light made this a cruise to be remembered.
I fell asleep as my head hit the pillow.
