Douglas Brown's Travels
Day 8
The weather was kind to us today and we enjoyed a good ride through the Hungarian countryside. We were not travelling on the motorway today and the Hungarian minor roads are twisty and in poor condition with several potholes and ruts.
There was no major highlight of today's ride as it was merely a short days ride of 151km to reach Budapest.
We travelled via Veszprem, zirc, Sored, Alcusutdoboz and Etyek. Even with a half hour coffee stop at Alcsutdoboz, we still arrived at Budapest early afternoon.
Once settling into our hotel rooms at ART'OTEL BUDAPEST, we were taken on a three hour sight seeing bus tour. I recorded the tour guides commentary with the intention of pulling ou facts to include in my blog. However, the guide was so knowledgable that he imparted a wealth of information. So I have decided to edit out his lame jokes and several pauses in commentary, so i can publish the audio and put a link in this blog. So if you are interested check back for this recording.
Budapest is a fascinating city spanning both sided of the Danube River. Originally comprising three towns Buda, old Buda and Pest they are now combined into a stunning display of architecture. A photographers paradise.
Which brings me to another minor problem I am having. I have lost my charger for my MacBook and can not download the photos from my camera. So todays blog will initially have no photos when published. However, I will update it by adding the appropriate photos when I have the problem sorted.
