Hi everyone! This is my last day in Brisbane until i return in six weeks to re-start my journey up the east coast.I am leaving to go & work as a Barmaid in a country hotel for six weeks, includes free accom & food so i had to take it.Its a thousand km west from here, with a few hundred people in that area ha should be fun! The contact details are;John & Wendy Gillbert;Club Hotel[Tambo] [07]46546109.Ive really enjoyed my time in Brisbane & met lots of interesting people along the way. This one guy told me the tale of his previous job, as a sledge dog trainer in Norway, which he lied his way into! He said after four months of no tv & conversating with dogs; plus the lack of day light, he was desperate to leave.A great thing to add to a cv i thought.Watched Pan's Labyrinth lastnight, The new Dark, twisted fairytale about a ten year old girl who discovered she was a princess of the underworld. It was set around the Spanish civil war, with her brutal stepfather killing everyone.I was shocked how violent it was & expected more fantasy scenes.Theres lots of things i haven't seen here but i wanted to relax most of the time & the heat does have an affect on your energy levels.Well lets hope i enjoy it in Outback Queensland, cos i have to stay their for the time being anyhow! speak to you all soon bye4nowxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Brooke From Brisbane!
Hi Everyone, wow! soooo many msg's i love it! Jak its great to hear from you! I understand how crazy it is back home & you probably take every oppurtunity to be out of the house with your friends.Neely told me all about what happened recently & im extremely proud of you, & i would no doubt have done the same.It seems to be suiting you, playing the responsible adult of the household.Everyone comments on your picture out here & all say how good-looking you are, & cannot believe you did your own Halloween makeup! I say you take after me hehe! just kidding. You are so individual Jak, with your interests! You stand out in a crowd ,so never waste yourself thinking your not good enough for something.Try not to worry about things at home, cos your life is just beginning & i assure you, there's plenty to see & experience out there. Thanks for all your Emails, its just what i needed to perk me up. I'm still in Brisbane & i shouldnt be really, cos I had planned to go to Beerwah to be near the zoo for my Birthday, However the woman never got back to me, so it put me off calling her.I am spending too much money staying in yhe city, so my next step is WORK! Ive joined the job club & im going to be sent to a country pub for six weeks, as i can save up some cash that way.Its free accom & food, with a set wage, in exchange for working behind the bar.I must admit im torn between going & staying, cos there will be big celebrations on here for my Birthday! But i would have to find a job in the next few days, which looks slim! I went to Australia zoo yesterday, cos that could have been my only chance if i have to leave shortly.I had a lovely day, but Terri & Bindi were busy filming in America, so didnt get to see them.the zoo was pretty big & in the next five years its going to be four times the size, with lots of new species being added & projects taking place. An African section will hold cheeta's, where you can see them chase a lure & reach their full speed, how impressive will that be! The zoo was very clean & tidy & all the animals looked content. They used to have a giant tortoise called Harriot, one of the Iriwin's favorite animals, who was caputured by Charles Darwin Himself! She died in July o6 at the age of 178 years old, wow! I cannot believe the amount of good they do for animals & their environments all over the world! They have teams in India risking their lives in rainforests, been shot at to save Tigers from poaching.I bought a wildlife warrior top, plus two wrist bands which all help fund the organisation & Tiger 511 operation.I gave myself headache crying at all the Heart warming msgs the staff & public had wrote about Steve on work shirts, which were hung just behind the crocoseum. When i got back from the zoo i decided to take a walk by Brisbane river & then i caught the Ferry cat, which cruised from one end to the other.I made one stop but didnt feel like sitting on my own in one of the exclusive restaurants at riverside! The city looked a picture from the boat, lit up all different colours against the night sky,it made the water shimmer & sparkle! The sky scrapers are hugh & i now know what Ant feels like! I must say, it was one of those moments where you drift into yourself & i felt lucky for that moment. I fell down the steps onto my knee walking home haha! I put a hole in my jeans, It seemed to happen in slow motion, but i didnt care it kind of looks fashionable.I need to finsh downloading my pics for you all,but i dont want to rush like i did the last lot.Ill be in touch soon love mexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Brooke
Wow loved your latest photos - you're looking great. Loved the one with you and the kids on the beach. With your red swinsuit you could've been straight out of Baywatch!!
You've always been sooo into wildlife Brooke ever since you were tiny (and not just the cute puppies and kittens) you must get your employers there to write you some references on their headed paper for when you get back. People will be clambering to employ you with what you've been up to in Aussie!! But you've still got loads of things to enjoy there first. Where are you off to next? Are you anywhere near Aunty Laura's brother-in-law Dave? It's gone a bit quiet at our house after Christmas. Joel has gone back to Norwich and Naomi is always off here there and everywhere! She's took Alfie out for a long walk today (and it's tipping it down). Dom got a mandolin for Christmas and is having his first lesson today. Anyway Brooke hope you're Ok and enjoying every minute of your time in Australia.
Lots of Love, Aunty Ruth xx

hi brooke, sorry i havnt messaged you for ages, things have been hectic for me lately and i kinda lost focus on my priorities. iv been looking at your photos and there amazing and it seems as though your having the time of your life- australia is really an extrordinary place. Things are kind of the same here; apart from a bit of trouble with mum and bob recently i feel as though things have calmed down a bit. i only wish certain individuals here would just take a look in the mirror and change.
Anyway, im more or less fine and will probably still be here when you return as im thinking about carrying on a year at college instead of jumping onto university. i really really miss you brooke, but the fact that this is an amazing opportunity for you and is changing your life is keeping us all going. just make the most of it, keep safe and im sure you'l have a wonderful time. i will message you soon, love jak xxxxxxxxx

Im scared for life now looking at those kangaroo pictures!! That poor little pink skin baby!! Was just sat eating some salmon looking at the pictures, erh!!! chucked it in the bin..
You are so brave going up in that airplane, its tiny! i couldnt have done it.. Those beaches are amazing and wish i could have been there for the river rubber ring ride!! I would love to do something like that..
Only 5 days to go till my holiday.. Cant wait!!
I rode Katie fletchers new horse yesterday.. I picked the tack up and had to go fetch it from its stable.. When i pulled up there was this massive 17.3 hands clydesdale horse with feet as big as a sauce pans!! I tacked it up and walked it out onto the yard and couldnt get on it. my foot wouldnt reach the stirrup.. i got on the fence and lept and it run off with me laying on its back.. If anyone would have seen me i would have died!! I would have broke my bloody neck if id have fallen off!!
Anyway!! probably bored you to tears by now...
Love you lots

Hi again! I still haven't made any decisions yet, regarding that job. I really need to decide tonight, to be able to turn up tomorrow morning.Arrrahh!.Im really sorry about the pics! I tried for over an hour & in the end i had to delete everything, due to a fault with the computer.I was soooo peeved off & tired in the end. Walked around Brisbane & found the nice part eventually, which reminded me of Sydney. It had botanical gardens & fancy walkways.I decided to go to the cinema & watched Will Smiths new film, starring Him & his young son. They called it [The Pursuit of Happyness] Based on a true story.I found it rather depressing most of the way through, but a happy ending thank god! Today might be my last night here, Ill be missing the goats milk!.I worked all my five hours at once today, in the blistering heat! I feel like a cooked chicken & thats with sun cream & a hat! gemma[cleopatara] I found the bag of worry dolls in the side pocket of my backpack today & thought of you.I think i might be needing them if i take on this new job ha! Anyway got to write some emails & job search so byebye allxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone! its my day off today, so ive ventured into Brisbane city.I had only been here five minutes & these sales people stopped me in the shopping mall. They worked for the WWF animal & conservation charity, so i thought id seem interested! Ive been offered a job if i want it & i could make decent cash depending on how many sales i get in a day.I would have to change my plans a bit though & leave the place im at now early.Im not sure if i can pull off the cheesy lines! if it was representing any other charity then maybe not, but i might give it a go, as ive nothing to lose i suppose. Its not as nice as Sydney here.I was just blown away by that place! Im confused for the first time in two months, maybe i should stick with mt original plan & do fruit picking in Bunderburg. Worked hard yesterday putting up phone cables around the land & cutting down lantarna,Which is a horrible vine that wraps itself around other trees & blocks out all the light. You have to poison the roots too once you have cut it.Think im going to buy another book today cos i finshed mine yesterday & im lost without it! It was called[ Dark Horse] by Tami Hoag! It was about an ex police woman who had been a top horsey person in her time, due to her rich childhood. she new all about the sinister side, of the very competitive horse industry! She was deeply depressed cos of an accident when she was cop, but a twelve year old girl asks for her help to find her sister, who works as a groom at a top show yard. it gives her a new lease of life to try & solve the case.I loved it! Im going to try & download my long overdue pics now, so log on to my photo albums! yipee! bye4nowxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
