Today I graduate from Minnesota State University Moorhead with my B.F.A in Art with an emphasis in graphic design. Instead of attending commencement I am on my way to Arezzo, Italy for Nate and Mado's wedding, and I could not be more happy to be spending today and the rest of this week celebrating the many new phases that our family members are entering in their lives. We started out the days events with Kayla forgetting her passport at home, which she got before our flight left from Mpls. We had a connecting flight in Chicago where we met up with Madeline's family and friends of the couple. Because the flight was overbooked, Brandon and Kayla took the $1,000 travel vouchers the airline was offering for them to leave a day later for Rome. We boarded for our long flight, which, when we weren't all sleeping, became a sort of party because we were such a large group. The complimentary wine and beer did not hinder this at all either. Once we landed outside Rome, we took a train into the main train station in Rome in order to board our train to Arezzo. This is where things got a bit hairier. Gma Kathy almost fell backwards down an escalator with her luggage and me taking care of my mom's larger than life suitcase (packed with what assume to be bricks) up & down stairs, on & off trains, and into cars was less than ideal. With such a big group it got pretty difficult to keep track of ppl, and to communicate instructions. When we got to Arezzo, Bernie and Aaron rented cars. Nate came from the villas to lead us back in his and Mado's rented VW camper van with flowers and peace signs on the side for their honeymoon trip. The villas are amazingly beautiful. Only pictures can do them justice. Let's just say each room has its own bathroom, their is a pool and hot tub as part of our villa, and a crazy view of a national forest and the city below. We hung around exploring when we first got in, then toured the other villas each of which is awesome in its own unique way as well as all also having pools. We drove into town to get groceries for dinner with turned into our family eating Italian bread, meats, cheeses, and wines by the fire in our villa where we stayed until I fell asleep on the rug in front of the fireplace and was persuaded to go to sleep. No wi-fi yet:(
