So, we pretty much agree that today has been the most exciting day thus far. Got an early start (6:45 am Hawaii time), lathered up the sunsreen, and got aboard one of Captain Andy's amazing boats. It was awesome.
We started with a delicious breakfast of pineapple, pastries and POG juice (passion, orange, guava). Then we found ourselves sitting on the trampoline watching the water go from blue, to crystal blue, to crystal-clear-sparkling-only in your best dreams-avatar kind of blue (yes it was that stunning). A few splashes/drops of water turned Brittney's wrap into a soaked sarong.
Before we knew it, we had the Na'Pali coastal cliffs to our right, and were surrounded by playful dolphins (see video). The sun came out and Brittney was in heaven. Not only did we see waterfall skeletons, but we also spotted a few active wateralls and caves. Then, oh my goodness, the Captain stopped the boat, put up the sails, and we cruised on through the most beautiful scenery with Hawiian music quietly playing in the background. While one poor newlywed lady (one of maybe 6 others) was puking over the back end, Brittney found herself a nice spot to take claim her own. It was hard to pick between soaking up the view from the eyes-or-taking advantage of the sounds, smells and motion of the best place ever....she decided to take a quick snooze and it was the best.
Oh guess what..then we took off full speed ahead for the SNORKELING spot. The amazing crew gave us nice gear and we jumped into the dreamy water. It was nice, although there was some 'jellyfish' kind of planktin floatin in the water that would sting you every now and then. The reef and fish were so cool and fish food helped make friends with all creatures.
A nice lunch was served, with beer and wine...and then cookies. It was lovely to eat n a swaying boat, in the sunshine, with the one you LOVE.
THEN... the captain suggested that all thrill seekers lay on the trampoline and hold on tight. He warned that the speed+coastal winds ahead will feel like gale force...and to expect some bumps. We said, 'WHY NOT'. We were thrown and splashed full force. The waves got taller and taller as we got closer and closer to our final destination. It was a blast.
When to got home, we were COVERED in sea salt, so instead of taking a shower, we took dip in the pool and then hit up happy hour at Kalipaki Joes. What fun! Then we got some Hawiian Gelato and picked up 2 movies from the front desk. It's an early evening, but today was non-stop fun! Enojy the videos and pictures.
