Its December 4th and we only have 2 and a half weeks left in Perth. We cant believe how quick time has gone but we have seen and done nearly everything we wanted so we will leave happy.
We had an epic weekend on 24th/25th of November. We hit up Ascot, Perth Racecourse for the biggest day in Perth horseracing. Only slightly bigger than Glynneath point to point ha! We get there and the atmosphere is buzzing. Everyone has made a real effort with their outfits and we look the part sporting posh frocks, headwear and shirt and trousers. We bet a bit and come across a few familiar names in the programme and put our luck in them to no avail ha. The day goes by with the sun blazing down until 5pm after the last race when a local band called Jebediah come on stage to play. Thunder and lightning and rain comes from nowhere but everyone stays out and dances and rocks away in the pouring rain. What a day!!!
Sunday 25th November and weve booked tickets for Stereosonic, which any person in their right mind would do. We agree to meet up with a few people and make our way out to Claremont for the festival. We get there and fly past security and into the showgrounds. Its midday and its baking hot, there only one thing for it. BEEEEERRR!!! We have a few beers and listen to Kaz James. Our friends come and we mingle a bit before getting as close to the front as possible to see Example, Calvin Harris and Aviicii. What a lineup!! We dance away and drink all night. Epic! We buy some merchandise which has become tradition over here ha. What a weekend! Huge struggle in work the next day ha!
Next weekend is bit quieter but equally good. We have few evening drinks on Saturday before hitting a bottleshop and stock up for the Wales v Australia rugby match. Allegiances split, we cant turn our back on home so support Wales. They lose. Typical! Sunday we head down to the WACA to see the 3rd Test between Australia and South Africa. Atmosphere is quality and we sit and watch in 35 degree heat. Roasting. Unfortunately we watch SA smash Aus all over the park but see 9 wickets and see Aus bat 14 overs. Would have liked to see Ricky Pontings last ever innings but there we are. Still a great experience. So 2 weekends left and we will certainly be busy!
