Rome
This morning we got up and had breakfast then jumped on the metro train and went to the Sistine Chapel and Vatican City. There was snow and people everywhere. People were making snowmen and having snow ball fights, it is not usual for Rome to get snow.
There were thousands of people around and as we were walking from the train station and a man confronted us about doing a tour through the Vatican city and Sistine chapel with a guide and went straight through, no lines we said yes, and luckily we did as it was brilliant! I didn't learn that much the first time I went through six years ago. It was great for Trav too as he didn't know much about it at all, now he does! I dare someone to quiz him when we get home!!
During the tour we heard rumours (that were actually true) that all the churches and the Colosseum were closed due to the snow and how slippery everything was so unfortunately we couldn't go inside the colosseum however I did take Trav to see the outside of it. There were people everywhere! It was very pretty to see it with snow all over it.
After this we went back to our room and dried off a little and then went out for another train ride to the Fontana Di Trevi, I convinced Trav it was so much better at night then during the day. It was all lit up and had ice on it. Soooo pretty! We walked down the slippery steps with everyone else and through our two coins in to return to Italy. Soon after there were whistles and police and batterns ad people yelling everywhere because we were not supposed to go down the steps because it was so slippery! Gee that was funny!!
On the way back to the station we walked into a cute little Italian restaurant for some dinner then it was to bed for us.
Sweet dreams,
Bree and Trav
