Venice to Milan

Our alarm went off at 6:30 this morning as we were too lazy yesterday to pack our bags last night! Neither of us slept very well last night but did sleep on the train to make up for it. We quickly had some breakfast and went and boarded the water-bus to take us to the train station nice and early. For once our train was on time, and thankfully as the train station is small and has no shelter from the cold. This morning was overcast and fresh, a good day to leave if you ask me!

It took 2 ½ hours to get to Milan and there was snow when we got here. What a disaster it was getting to our hotel! We were told to catch tram 5 which we did then told to catch tram 4 back 6 stops, by then we were so lost that we just tried to get a taxi, there was none around so while Trav waited outside I went into a bar to ask someone to call us one. The old guy was so extremely rude and wouldn't do it. Long story short we got to our hotel about an hour later after a train, 2 trams and a $20 EURO taxi ride!

We were told that our accommodation had a kitchen, it was locked, our shower flooded when we turned it on, and the staff were very unhelpful and unfriendly, what a disaster for 4 star accommodation!

On a happier note we got the kitchen opened and made a delicious home made meal for dinner and smelt our room, yum! The perks to dating a chef!!
