Today we woke up really early to get the two hour train ride up to Jungfraujock, the highest reachable point in Europe. This was a costly train setting us back $140 each but was something we had to do while we were in Switzerland and it was well worth it! We woke up on our last full day in Nice to an overcast and relatively mild day so we decided to jump on a bus and head down to one of our favourite little French Riviera towns called Antibes. As we farewelled Italy after nine amazing nights we were sad to be leaving but excited to get to France, first stop Nice! After arriving in the early evening we had a long walk through Nice with our backpacks (at least we saw a fair amount of the city, including all the shopping district and restaurant area). Today was all about walking between the five villages. We caught a short train to the first village, Riomaggiore for breakfast with a friend from London which consisted of oily foccacia, Italian bacon (basically thin uncooked bacon), tomato and a soft cheese. This morning was another early start so we could get the bus to Florence for another overnight stop before Cinque Terra. The drive wasn't too bad at all! We had a stop at a little Tuscan town called Orvieto where we had brunch and wondered this cute town for an hour, visiting the amazing cathedral.
