BradnDad2014
Our second day in St Louis, saw a trip to "FastLane Cars" for a visit to their “For sale” section…After an extended look around and dream building session, we then headed off to Jefferson Barracks Museum, Missouri.
JBM has an amazing collection of artefacts relating to the American Civil War and the atrocities conducted. Quite a sombre experience, we learnt about the reasoning from both sides of the argument and the chain of events that led to some staggering casualties. An almost unbelievable estimate of 750,000 soldiers and an unknown number of civilian casualties takes the toll to well over 1 million deaths!... Remembering, this is the 1860's…
In need of a lighter environment, we headed out through the gift shop, test running a couple of hats on the way, eventually returning to our lodgings in St Louis for dinner around 6.30pm.
Brad loves this place, it has free popcorn in the foyer, which led to 3 visits over the course of the evening…
Following on the next morning..
St Louis was a pleasant surprise and well worth a visit for a few days. Now it’s time to head for Indianapolis.
Arriving at Alamo car rentals to pick up our “compact” car for the drive to Indianapolis, it will probably come as no surprise that we drove away in “Ruby” a spanking new red convertible Mustang.
Keen for some “wind in our hair” travel (Ok, Brad was…) we had no trouble finding Interstate 70 east and hit the road. Perfect weather for the trip had the top down for most of the way. A few hours later had us checking into our hotel in Indianapolis..
I know, I know, lots a car photo's. But there really isn't much to see between St Louis and Indianapolis.... except Brazil...
