This city is "BIG" ! Using Google maps, I measure about 120km from one side of the urban sprawl to the other. It has a population in excess of 12 million!
I don't think we are going to see it all in one visit....
We have decided on a few places of interest and a couple of must see's.
Venturing out of our cliff top house around 11.30am, we had decided to use a hop on hop off bus to get our bearings. The Chinese theatre on Hollywood Boulevard is a cross over point for a few of the tours. This theatre is where most of the Block Buster movies debut. It has the famous hand prints in the forecourt that date back to movie stars of the 20's. Originally named Gauman's Chinese Theatre, the naming rights were purchased in 2013 by an electronics corporation and it's now known as the TLC Chinese Theatre.... Guess everything is for sale in Hollywood...
We jumped on a tour that included some celebrity homes around Beverly Hills and some land marks. Guided by a very entertaining character, who claimed to be a stand up comedian by night, we had a lot of fun.
It turns out we were about 8 blocks away from the action last night, so we decided to grab dinner in town and get a look at "Hollywierd" after 6.00pm.
This end of Hollywood Boulevard is full of restaurants and eating establishments. As we were in LA, who could pass up the chance of visiting the local "Hooters" restaurant.. ;)
After a feast of Nacho's and Sliders, Brad was super impressed by the constant refilling of his glass of coke, we headed up stairs to a night of stand up comedy. Entering mid show, the guy on stage immediately latched onto the Australian accent and we were mildly teased for the rest of the evening.
Strolling along the boulevard to return to our car, we passed many famous theatres and significant venues, which to movie buffs, I'm sure would have been exciting, but unfortunately is lost on us.
We met a guy with an amazing likeness to Wolverine along with 2 x Superman's, 2 x Spiderman's, 2 x Michael Jackson's some very good break dancers and some very unusual people whom we weren't too sure what they were....
Eventually home around midnight, we were done :)

KLB&R Looks like you're having a great time:-)
susan_dougherty You were standing where Will Smith once stood. Is it obvious that I am extremely jealous?
susan_dougherty I cried a little inside when I saw this photo. Can the rest of your trip really compare to the moment you took this photo? Can it really?
susan_dougherty Amazing view! :)
Joanne IN "THE" Place to be photo you could pass as Gene Hackman from Mississippi burning!
