BradnDad2014
After a good nights sleep, we were up and going to breakfast about 8.30am. As this was only a stop over for the night, I had decided to just book a motel. The $105.00 deal included breakfast.
Entering the dining room, which wasn't much bigger than my kitchen, we were confronted with quite a few family's jostling to get what remained of a continental breakfast. Observing the amount of elbow action taking place, I opted to grab a few muffins and a coffee, Brad made waffles and grabbed a juice, before we quickly departed to the pool area. Gotta love a family with four snotty nosed kids under 5 with their hands in the cereal dispensers... :)
Setting off for LA, it was four lane highway all the way.
For most of the journey, we had been trying to work out why the passenger airbag indicator was on, indicating the airbag was turned off... After scouring the operators manual, Brad discovered there is a weight sensor in the seat. If there is insufficient weight, the car determines there must be a child or baby capsule in the seat and disarms the airbag... Lol
Now he is even more determined to put on the extra kilo's !!
The trip was fairly uneventful from Pismo to LA and apart from a bit of congestion for the last 10km, we arrived around 2.30pm.
Gertrude doing her thing with directions had us in knots trying to find our home, but we eventually got here. We are perched on one of the highest peaks in the Hollywood Hills around LA.
The view over LA is awesome !! After a quick look around and a nana nap, we headed into town about 8.00pm.
From our decking area, we overlook the famous Vine street, which is where all of the recording studios are located. Keen to have a look, we headed down to the corner of Sunset and Vine to check it out. Wandering from there to Hollywood Boulevard, we found a sushi train for dinner.
To be honest, there didn't seem to be an awful lot going on. A few strange people, the odd patrol car, but not much else. We headed home about 11.30pm and off to bed..
We shall see what tomorrow brings, but it's likely to be a late start... :)
