Brenton Kovacs's Travels
1/1/12
Had a great flight with Frontier. Arrived in Las Vegas and collected our hire car. We had to wait a while as the selection in the class we booked was a Jeep Liberty. After having 1 for 5 weeks i did not want another. After about 10 minutes a new Kia Sportage was driven into the pick up bays. Well this suited us just fine. Very nice car.
Checked into the Platinum and we were upgraded to the Princess suite, 1200 square feet of luxury.
We spent the next few days just lazing about, nothing planned.
5/1
Checked out of the Platinum and moved to the Wyndham Grand Desert resort. We are staying here for 1 week, as the rate was so cheap.
6/1
Decided to do a hike near the Hoover Dam. Well the hike was very challenging. Took us 4 hours round trip to do 10.5ks. Up and down ropes and boulders the size of houses. The trail was called Gold Strike Canyon.
7/1
Woke up feeling a little sore after yesterdays hike, but it was well worth it. Spent the day at CES. This is the Consumer Electronics Show, for trade people only. We did get to see a lot of new technology, but because the place is so huge, it does get a little painful walking around the whole day. However we did get some good freebies. Some cool T shirts.
8th to the 12th
Nothing planned so we check out some top end car and bike shops. Did some sight seeing. Drove to Mt Charleston for lunch. It had snowed recently so it was very pretty.
