Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Woke to a very cloudy early morning. Slept well but only till 6am. It is still light at 11am and first light is around 6am, so not much time for darkness. Anyway after a nice warm shower i hit the road, and its not long before it rains. Not for long as luck would have it. It stops by the time i reach Waterford. Yes this is the place where Waterford Crystal is made. Lots of buses at the factory entrance. A quick stroll around town and i am on the way to the next town, Lismore. Lismore is a beautiful little village with a really nice garden where i have some lunch. And yes there is a Castle here, but seeing it form a distance will do.
Next stop is Blarney, near Cork. Its the closest camp ground to Cork. I walk into the village, about 3ks, and wander around and buy some dinner to take back with me. Did some washing, ate tea, watched some tv, and now its time for bed. Its 11pm and its still quite light. Might need my blind fold. Its a clear night so i expect it might get cold, but at least it wont rain, i hope.
Thie morning is rather chilly and cloudy, but no rain. I head into Cork, about 7k drive, only to find the city very deserted, as nothing opens here till midday. So i find a free car park and walk the streets. Cork is quite large as it has a ferry port, and airport. Managed to see enough before heading back to Blarney.
Now i have spent the last few hours in the TV room, and when i walked outside it has been gently raining for a while. Looks like i will be spending more time in the TV room.
The camp ground where i am staying is very nice. They offer plenty of green space for tents, a nice tv room, a large kitchen with microwave and fridge.
