First stop this morning was the jumping pillow at the caravan park. I am not sure who enjoyed it more, Soph or Dale and I! I think this is our first introduction to many jumping pillows on our trip.
After packing up the van and having a quick look around Renmark we both thought that Renmark is a place we could come back to. There is definitely something about the Murray River.
It was then time to hit the road for Port Augusta (400km).
The South Australian countryside is very pretty, with lots of hills and towns with Mt Gambier Stone houses. We were very tempted to turn off when we saw the sign to Clare and get some Annies Lane wine (one of our favourites that the Bardons introduced us to). Will definitely have to call through the South Australian wine district on the way home and stock up.
I got my first drive with the van today, and I am sure it will not be the last. After a few stops along the way we got into Port Augusta at a decent hour. I think that Soph may think that we are doing a tour of Australian playgrounds. We could probably even write a book by the end of this trip- “Australia’s best and worst playgrounds”.
I would not say that Port Augusta is the most appealing looking town but Dale said he will definitely be going back to get some Oysters.
