Up early this morning, i got a lift to the station with claires dad, and got the train back to southern cross in melbourne. went for a coffee and some yummy fruit toast, then set about my errands! burnt my photos to cd and posted them home, bought a tshirt for claires friend siobhans birthday (from claire) and one for myself! its a vintage winnie the pooh tshirt! it amuses me because it just says 'pooh' across the front!! hehe!! also bought some higher factor suncream and some facepaint, and booked myself on the ferry to tassie on monday!! flying back next sunday! im going on my own (not, as my mum thinks, because iv fallen out with the boys) because the others cant afford it! im going to stay with my friend carmen, also from the austrian forum.
met up with the boys by flinders st station, they also brought a new friend called ryan who didnt have a ticket but wanted to buy one at the grounds. we didnt know which way to go so we followed some aussie supporters on the tram, and made our way to the MCG, which is massive! you basically sit where you want so ryan was able to get a ticket and sit with us.
armed with pints we grudgingly walked through the 'dry area' where you cant drink, up 3 flights of stairs to the drunk stand. it was actually a better view! we headed for the giant st georges flag and sat with some geordies called Gaz and Cheddar!
Together we cheered the mighty england to VICTORY!!!! unfortunately we had to leave before the end as we were staying at claires and had to catch a train! what was even worse....the boys went to get their packs from the hostel and i caught a taxi to the station (which was 10 minutes away) but my driver got lost and i didnt get there on time so we missed the train!! gutted! we had to get another one an hour later, but it meant we'd left the cricket for nothing, and missed us winning :-( we were told by an aussie on the train getting updates on his mobile "bloody hell you've won"
we then went with claire to her friend siobhans 18th party, in her house out in the bush....so cool! there was a marquee outside where we danced for ages, but because of the drought it was really dusty, so had to stop dancing!!! left at about 2:30 as claire was driving home and was getting tired!
