Woke up around 9 feeling very tired but thankfully not hung over! i did possibly the stupidest thing iv ever done, and got AM and PM muddled up, which resulted in me missing my flight to melbourne. i was convinced it was 9:55pm, but when i checked it was am....and the time was 10am!! doh!! booked another one online, luckily it was cheap!
carmen, mark and I went up to the Cradle mountain national park, and did the Dove Lake 6km walk, which was absolutely beauuuuutiful! i learnt lots, including that sheeps tails do NOT drop off naturally as part of their adolescent growth, but fall off because farmers put rubber bands around them. carmen and mark found this hilarious but noone told me!!! i then looked even stupider when i innocently asked if wild sheep have long tails! i dont think thats a silly question but then again iv never seen a wild sheep. if anyone reading this has seen one, please let me know!
got back from cradle around 5pm, i packed up my stuff. the family got me a leaving present, a tshirt with tassie devil eyes on it! so cool! and they gave me an old backpack to save me buying one for the tour! theyre so lovely, going to miss them all!!
sally and carmen took me to the airport and waited with me until boarding. the flight was less than an hour, but we had horrible turbulence!! thrown all over the place!! again, i pretended to be calm and collected.
once in melbourne i sussed out whether i could sleep in the airport, and found that it actually closes for a few hours overnight, so that plan was down the drain! i got the bus to the city centre, and found a nice little bench in the bus station right next to some lockers!! shoved my bags in the lockers, and fell asleep using my converse trainers as a pillow!!
