Got up early today, caught the bus from Grand Swiss Bondi Hotel to the main bus terminal then got on a coach tour to go up into the Blue Mountains! Drove through a lot of farmland to get there, and then climbed right up into the mountains....beautiful day so amazing views! Drove through lots of little mountain villages, Mount Victoria, Blackheath and Leura to name a few, they were so quaint!!
Went to Scenic World, where we rode the worlds steepest railway incline (52degrees) without any seatbelts!! Would have taken pictures but I was busy fearing for my life! When we started all the japanese tourists at the front were screaming their heads off, and we were sat there wondering what all the fuss was about....we soon found out!! Great fun! Then we did a boardwalk through the rainforest, got some great views of the Three Sisters rock formation, the story goes that 3 sisters awoke a giant, and to save them from death their father used his magic bone to change them to stone. The father then turned himself into a Liarbird to escape the giant, but lost his magic bone, so he and the sisters have been that way ever since. Honestly these mountain folk...i think its the altitude! Rode the cablecar back up to the entrance and got our free lunch...yay!
Stopped for a few photos at various points on the way back, at one there was a little souvenir centre, where Eddy met a famous aborigine! He was told by the renowned wise man that kangaroo steak increases the size of your manhood....hmmmm!
Then we stopped at a wildlife park, where we saw wallabies, dingoes, a saltwater croc, snakes, koalas (we all had photos with one!!) and hand fed the kangaroos....well, i tried. I got scared that it would bite my hand so I just sort of threw the food on the floor!! We were given a little animal passport, which you're meant to stamp at every animal you see, but we stamped Eddy instead! It amused us greatly.
Drove back past the Olympic Park that was used in 2000, quite cool. There were 40,000 volunteers that helped run the games, and all of their names are engraved on a crowd of posts at the entrance to the Superdome to thank them, I found Briony Hayes and Felicity Hayes!
On returning to the hostel we had some drinks courtesy of happy hour at The Shack - our hostel bar, and some food. Met Ed and Sheryl (Toms Godfather and his girlfriend) and wandered down to the Beach Road Hotel, had a few drinks there then sort of went our separate ways! I went out with a group of girls from Perth who were staying at our hostel, went dancing! Then they went home so I joined up with some Austrian people, then i got tired and called it a night.
