Today was a great day, Django who is only 15, passed his Padi Open Water Course and at 7am tomorrow we are all off to a magical group of three islands called Mantanani to shoot a short film on a cool turtle expert and his family who catch turtles to study and release. Well i'm doing that, Django will be diving with a divemaster buddy and Jac and Kitty will be snorkelling hoping to come across a dugong. We are staying in huts on stilts in a lagoon and there's nothing to do once the sun goes down but drink like... The fish swimming beneath us.
The last 3 days have been great, swimming on the islands in the national park off KK and going out to cafe/restaurants with our host, Pieman and his wife, Clare. These are places that tourists never go to, miles from the city centre, where they serve the most delicious food imaginable. Last night we had stingray which I felt a bit guilty about as I had been swimming with one a fee hours earlier but it tasted like skate and after one bite I couldn't stop myself. Sorry.
It was a bit cooler today, barely reaching 31c so I wore my sheepskin lined trunks just to stay warm. The kids are comparing tans and looking forward to seeing turtles tomorrow. Stay safe all of you, cheers, Jerry and family
