Slow start to today packing up the camp site. Then it was good bye to our Bedouin friends. Quite sad as they have been so much fun. One of them actually asked me before I left if I would like to stay and be his third wife. Was laughing until I realized he was serious. Then told him I was flattered but really quite attached to my life back home and with the idea of monogamy.
Arrived in Luxor just before lunchtime. So nice to have a toilet that doesn't involve any form of squatting or digging in the ground.
Luxor is a nice city and quite different to Cairo. Wide open streets, no car horns, no rubbish, and a real tropical feel. I like it, although not that same community atmosphere as in the desert.
Thus afternoon it was Karnak temple. Simply amazing. Felt so small amongst it all. This afternoon went to the souq for some shopping. Good day.

Blackers Yay! I was worried you were getting lazy with your blogging, but I suppose the old "there was no wi-fi in the middle of the Western Desert" excuse will have to do. For now. I'm hella envious of you getting to spend so long in the middle of a desert - that sounds like a terrific experience. Also, make sure you check how many camels you are worth before you pass this one up - your parents could probably use the spare camels, and maybe they will let me borrow one on the weekend for off-road camel racing, and those camel spit-roast parties I'm always holding. Glad it's such a good time, B.
